Vegelicious Cheltenham calls itself a vegetarian restaurant specialising in Asian cuisine and is fast becoming a popular destination in the Bayside suburb of Cheltenham.

The restaurant is located on Bay Road and is situated roughly 2 minutes drive from the busy shopping centre Southland, and has ample parking out the front and nearby side streets.

While it is labelled as a vegetarian restaurant, its menu is predominantly vegan friendly, with only a handful of items not vegan friendly - these items are labelled with an egg on them and can easily be adapted to be vegan. Their home made tofu is not vegan either.

The staff are super accommodating to your dietary requests, and are absolutely understanding for vegans.

Vegelicious Cheltenham is a relatively small spot, with only 10 dine-in seats available, but it is a very popular take away destination.

Vegelicious offer complimentary ‘Prawn’ crackers for dine-in customers. Their prawn crackers are made from carrots

If you do decide to dine-in, it is very much like your typical Fish and Chip shop set up, with all the cooking and seating in the same area, which is what prevents the location from having more seating.

The staff at Vegelicious Cheltenham are super friendly and accommodating to requests, and they even provide dine-in guests with complimentary crunchy ‘Prawn’ crackers, which are made from carrots!

The prawn crackers replicate traditional prawn crackers perfectly, and act as the perfect starter while you browse through their extensive menu that includes dishes that include beef, pork, chicken, seaford and tofu dishes.

Their meat options are mock meat, and are made from either soy or wheat - the texture and flavours are incredibly spot on, that they’ll fool just about anyone!

Vegelicious - Lemon Chicken Vegan

If you are looking for some classic Chinese meals, then Vegelicious does an amazing job of replicating those favourites, but making them vegan friendly with the use of their soy or wheat based mock meats.

The lemon chicken had an incredible batter surrounding its chicken mock meat, and also had an equally flavoursome lemon glaze. Texture with their mock meats would absolutely satisfy anyone.

Whether you’re looking for a vegan friendly alternative to BBQ pork & roast duck, honey chicken, beef rendang or even sweet & sour pork, Vegelicious in Cheltenham has an extensive selection of items to choose from.

On top of the extensive range of mains, they have a handful of great entrees to choose from including dumplings, springrolls and much more.

The extensive selection makes Vegelicious are suitable location for those looking for a quick small bite, or those looking for a massive meal.

The Bayside suburbs of Melbourne generally miss out on the more popular vegan restaurants in Melbourne, so it is refreshing to see a largely vegan restaurant such as Vegelicious Cheltenham to offer an incredible selection of Chinese-inspired and vegan friendly dishes at an affordable price.

While the menu is largely vegan friendly, please be mindful that some dishes are not vegan. It is predominately their fried rice dishes, but there are some others too - so be sure to mention to the staff your requirements when you visit.
