INGREDIENTS

Glazed Baked Tofu

Marinade:

  • 1 block firm tofu

  • 3 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp sweet paprika

Glaze:

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp butter

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1 tsp dijon mustard

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp water

  • Sriracha for a kick (optional)

METHOD

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  • Make deep cuts in the tofu to ensure the marinade permeates thoroughly.

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce and sweet paprika. Place the tofu in an oven dish with the scored side up, pouring the marinade over it to ensure complete coverage (flip and turn as needed).

  • Pour any excess marinade over the tofu and place it in the oven for 50 minutes.

  • In a saucepan over low heat, combine all the glaze ingredients and stir until the glaze thickens (this may take 5-10 minutes).

  • Pour the glaze mixture over the baked tofu and return it to the oven for an additional 10 minutes.
