Zambrero Launches New Pulled Mushroom - But Says Goodbye to Spicy Cauliflower
If you’ve been following my vegan fast food adventures over the years, you’ll know I’m a big fan of Zambrero. They’ve always been one of the more reliable spots for a quick and tasty vegan feed here in Australia with their expansive range of vegan friendly options, and now they’ve just added something new to the menu – Pulled Mushroom!
This new filling is a game-changer if you love rich, savoury flavours with that classic pulled-meat texture. It’s designed to soak up all the spices and sauces Zambrero is known for, making it perfect whether you’re building a burrito, bowl, or taco.
But with every new release, sometimes we lose an old favourite, and sadly the Spicy Cauliflower has been dropped from the menu. That one had a cult following, so I know some of you will be disappointed. Still, it’s good to see Zambrero continue to expand their plant-based range with this new filling option.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about Zambrero is how vegan-friendly their menu already is. A lot of fast food chains make plant-based options feel like an afterthought, but at Zambrero you’ve got plenty of choice.

Dessert: And if you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss the Oat Milk Caramel Pecan Ice Cream Sandwich - it’s 100% vegan and seriously good!
What’s even better is that their website has a clear allergen guide, so you can confidently build your meal without having to ask a million questions at the counter.
Why the Pulled Mushroom is Worth Trying
The pulled mushroom filling is not just a “vegan substitute”, it’s delicious in its own right. Mushrooms bring that deep umami flavour, and when they’re shredded and cooked the way Zambrero does it, you get that same tender, juicy ‘meat-like’ texture that tries to replicate pulled pork.

It’s always a win when big food chains introduce new vegan-friendly options, and Zambrero’s Pulled Mushroom is definitely a welcome addition. While I’ll personally miss the Spicy Cauliflower, I’m stoked to have another flavour-packed option on the menu.
